Diane’s Testimony

I’ve been taking my youth to a camp for the past eight years.  I’ve seen great things happen in this time period.  Camp energizes my youth group, helps with conversion, opens their hearts to the love of Christ, helps them build a relationship with Jesus Christ, and helps them build relationships with our own parish as well as the bigger church.

When we started Camp Savio it took this ministry to a whole new level.  Now I have young adults who have gone to camp in the past serving as summer staff and support staff.  I have middle school youth who are now striving to want to help with camp once they are too old to go to camp.  We also now have home grown hosts and musicians to support camp.
Our parish has grown because of camp.  The stories that the youth share when they come back make for lots of conversation, that end up in offers to help camp grow from parishioners.  Camp Savio has potential to grow youth ministry in our diocese, in parishes, and it will grow vocations with the proper support.
I highly recommend Camp Savio to help with personal growth for youth, spiritual growth for individuals be it youth, adult chaperones, or those running the camp, as well as the potential to take parishes and our diocese to a whole new level.
