Camp Bosco Protecting God’s Children Policy
As parents, we understand that it is hard to leave your children, but we can assure you that our trained staff will make every effort to ensure the safety and well-being of your child during camp.
All parties involved with Camp Bosco, including priests, deacons, youth ministers, chaperones, Savio Shepherds and volunteers are required to attend a Virtus: Protecting God’s Children workshop and have background checks.
Staff members and directors of youth programs in parishes receive continuing education on a regular basis through on-line communications. Participation in the continuing education component is monitored by supervisors. All continuing education must be up to date by the beginning of Camp Bosco.
All who work or minister at Camp Bosco will incorporate ethical guidelines that safeguard the dignity and value of God’s children. Signed Diocesan codes of conduct will be required for accountability from all priests, deacons, Savio Shepherds, youth ministers, chaperones and volunteers ministering, working or volunteering at Camp Bosco.
These policies fulfill both the Kansas City – St. Joseph Diocese as well as the Kansas City, KS Archdiocese.
