What is housing like?
We are in dorm style rooms. Each room can hold 2-3 campers. We will assign rooms grouped together. It is up to the group leader to assign youth to those rooms. Down the hall are the showers and bathrooms. We have separate buildings for males and females.
I have food allergies, can you accommodate these?
We try our best to accommodate food allergies. It is imperative that you inform the camp as far in advance as possible. It is recommended that the person bring supplemental snacks for themselves.
Is there a full time nurse on staff?
We have a full time nurse on staff. The nurse will pass out all medications to the campers and will be on hand to handle any emergencies. Please make sure you turn in your medications at registration.
How much does it cost?
The final cost is up to each individual parish, please check with your group leader. They may decide to include the cost of chaperones or cost of extra things (e.g. t-shirts, back packs, etc) into your individual cost.
The cost for Camp Savio is $375/person. The cost for Camp Bosco is $325/person.
How do I register?
For Camp Savio, every camper must attend with a parish group. Please contact your youth minister or pastor to find out how to register with your parish. If your parish is not planning on attending, please contact Katie Troup (email@example.com) to discuss your options.
For Camp Bosco, individual registration is allowed. Please fill out the individual registration form at https://campsavio.com/registration/
Parish leaders – please check out the registration page for the forms and deadlines. https://campsavio.com/registration/
Turning in paperwork and forms…
Group leaders: please honor the deadlines! Please note your spots are not reserved until we receive both paperwork and payment. If paperwork and payment are not received on time, you may forfeit your spots.
Please note the address for sending these forms is NOT Maur Hill-Mount Academy but the Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph.
Please mail all deposits, paperwork and final balances to:
Attn: Camp Savio Staff
Diocese of Kansas City-St. Joseph
20 W 9th Street
Kansas City, MO 64105
Please only send one check from the parish – not multiple checks from your attendees.
Please make checks out to “Office of Youth Ministry”
Can we come early / stay late?
If your travel plans require that you come early or stay late, we can accommodate your group. You must pre-register for this service in order to us to accommodate you. The cost is $40 / person / day. Please contact Katie Troup at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are in need of this.
If I need to add spots, edit my registration, or drop spots, how do I do that?
Please contact Katie Troup at email@example.com.
Are we allowed to sell spots?
We allow groups to sell spots in the event that a group is not able to fill their spots and another group is in need of them. Please contact Katie if you have open spots or need spots.
If we are on the waiting list, how do we know when spots become available?
As spots become available, we will contact those on the waiting list either by phone or by email. Please be sure that your listed contact information is accurate.
Is the $150 deposit refundable?
The $150 deposit is non-refundable and non-transferable to your balance. To avoid losing any deposit monies, please be conservative in your number projection. This deposit MUST be turned in with the initial group registration form. Until we have your deposit money, your spots are not reserved!
Can we bring our priest / religious to camp?
Absolutely! We welcome and highly encourage it! Priests attend camp for free. All other clergy/seminarians serving as chaperones must pay the full camp price. *We cannot guarantee separate housing for seminarians.
Can my chaperones bring their young children to camp?
We value families and love to see them on our campus. If room is available we can accommodate non-camper children in camper housing. Your group must have enough chaperones staying with your teens and your group leader must approve. Additional housing is not included in the camp price. If you intend to bring your families you must let us know in advance!
What if a camper wants to go home mid-week?
For those campers who experience homesickness, in most cases it quickly passes as the camper becomes busy with activities and making new camp friends. However, sometimes homesickness does not pass or a child may not be ready to attend a full week of overnight summer camp. While campers should come to camp with the intention of spending the entire week, should your child experience any of these situations, please be assured that we contact you from camp and together we’ll discuss a plan on how to best respond to the situation at hand.
How much money should I bring?
Click here to see the prices of the items in our camp store. We will also have soda and candy for $1/piece. For Camp Savio participants, we will be going to Schlitterbahn and you may also want to bring money to purchase extra food or special attractions.
Can I send mail to my camper?
You may send mail to your camper. Please address your envelope like so:
Camper Name – Parish
1000 Green Street
Atcishon, KS 66002
Any mail received after campers have left will be thrown away.
